Growing up in Long Island, New York, my cultural palate by no means skilled many cuisines out of doors of Italian, Chinese, American, and mom’s. Turkish meals were not an alternative, so now, at 38 years old, I can appreciate the nice, candy, peppery, and warm flavors this cuisine, rich in the subculture, gives.Fat Kids Corner food assessment: Leeman Döner 1
Sauce thieves

When the risk of sauce robbery is so commonplace that an area has to hang up a sign announcing,” Sausflesjes mogen niet naar bite” or “Sauce bottles aren’t allowed outside”), something unique needs to be going on internally! Leeman Döner has been a family-owned and operated commercial enterprise since 1992, with locations here in Amsterdam.

Except for one month in line with the year, the notably tough operating Kilic circle of relatives cranks out 200kg or 400lbs of döner PER DAY!
What is döner? It’ss an inverted cone of meat seasoned with Turkish spices and slowly cooked vertically on a rotisserie to make any Fat Kid vulnerable at the knees.

Spinning round and spherical

When I walk in, I’m nearly drooling! The restaurant serves Turkish Pizza, Lamb or Chicken Döner, Dürüm, Kebab, Falafel, Börek, and even Baklava. You may choose anything on the menu and pay a few euros for it! I supplied my order,” Kip broodje,” and found an area to sit in. Entranced, I watch the four meat saunas painting their magic!

Spinning spherical and around, the döner slowly chefs while fresh, made-to-order portions of bread are coated up, waiting to be called into action. “Hondered drieentwintig!” They call out. “Hondered drieentwintig” They yell out again…” Then,” Number 123″ Shit” I assume that’s me.”Sorry. Dank je well,” I say as I clutch my hen bundle of joy like a new child.
Battle gear

The equipment I need for warfare, napkins, and extra garlic sauce are within hanging distance as I watch my first chunk. I dive in! The crunch of the lettuce, bite from the onion, and earthiness of the cilantro, mixed with the taste of paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic, cumin, oregano, and purple pepper, contact my palate, growing holy matrimony of flavors with the chicken.

Physically unable to place my sandwich down, I snicker, looking at the lunchtime online game unfolding before me. Everyone there is”Pac Ma” eating: chomp, chomp, chomp without stopping. My very own Fat Kids model of”Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat” starts offevolved gambling in my head as I douse my sandwich with extra garlic sauce!
Brothers-in-arms

Like machines, without pronouncing a phrase, together we’re garlic sauce” Brothers-in-finger”””” passing the bottle back and forth after each chew until there’s no extra sandwich left!

Out of breath, I cave as I ponder every other sandwich.” hy not,” I say, re-enlisting my belly for any other tour of responsibility. It’ss simply that correct.

Remember, regardless of where you come back from, where you’re at, or where you’re going, meals permit us to return collectively, notwithstanding cultural or religious variations. Stop in nowadays and say hello to my buddies at Leeman Döner”
