Pizza enthusiasts who frequent the Whiteaker community can also have been crestfallen, while Pizza Research Institute closed its doors in May. But next month, the triangular block among Blair Boulevard and Van Buren — which a few would possibly say is formed like a slice of pizza — will once more be domestic to a pizzeria.
The aptly named Slice Pizzeria & Bar will open in mid-to-overdue September and will serve pizza starting from 4 p.m. until the middle of the night until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. “Ou”, most of the pizza, is thin like theirs; however, our crust is poofier. Our baking is a little different than theirs. Nonetheless, we have the same oven style they have. But we aim closer to getting a crispier crust on the bottom while being chewy in the center,” H” day stated.
He describes the pizza as New York-style and says they’ll load Detroit-style (rectangular, deep dish) options if oven space allows. Unlike PRI, Slice may have meat alternatives. But little about the physical space will change other than sparkling paint and a new color scheme.
The Slice menu can be rounded out with appetizers and salads. A new oven is being set up to boost pizza capacity, and plans are underway to convert the smaller delivery field inside the rear patio to a bar for next summer’s season.

The 2d Pizza My Cart outpost became a truck and became in brief at Cider Station on River Road till about three weeks ago. Holiday and Rodriguez acquired its ultimate fall for special activities. However, they will maintain it for that motive said the business was n’turdy enough on the River Road meals cart pod to make staying open where possible.
Holiday said both are excited they landed in The Whit after numerous efforts to locate a brick-and-mortar restaurant elsewhere in town.
