Today, turkeys are raised by various farmers around the world. They are most often fed grain, and many are genetically modified. Turkeys have been domesticated for hundreds of years. In the 1500s, European settlers brought turkeys to North America.

Where can you buy a turkey?

The best time to buy a turkey in the United States is between November and January. The weather makes the turkey tastier. If you purchase it in the summer, the turkey will taste bland because it hasn’t had enough timehasn’tvelop its flavor. However, if you get it in the fall, you can still have Thanksgiving dinner.

However, if you want to save money, you can purchase a turkey and freeze it until the holiday season. That way, when you have time to cook it, you can do so.

How to cook a turkey

First, you need to get a fresh turkey. A whole turkey should weigh between 8 and 10 pounds. If you have a large turkey, you can cut the breast into small pieces. To cook a turkey breast, you may need to cut it into four parts.

You can also cook a turkey leg. These are usually sold separately but can be easily cooked with a whole turkey.

To clean a turkey, wash it with hot water and rinse it well. Remove the giblets and discard them. To remove the neck, you can pull it off or cut it off with a knife.

Then, it would be best if you patted dry the turkey. You can do this by placing a paper towel on your countertop and then placing the turkey on top. Then, use your hands to rub the paper towel on the turkey. Be careful not to get too wet because you don’t want the turkey to absorb too much water.

Once the turkey is completely dry, you can rub salt on the skin and rub pepper on the cavity. This step will prevent the turkey from absorbing any moisture.

You can cook a turkey breast for 2 to 3 hours or a turkey leg for 1 hour and 45 minutes. After that, you can put the turkey in the oven at 450°F or lower. You can use a meat thermometer to check if the turkey’s internal temperature is 165°F.

To make gravy, simmer the pa and drip until the fat rises. Then, strain the fat and add flour and milk. Whenit’ss done, let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.

You can add spices and other ingredients to the gravy and cook it for another 10 minutes. You can serve the turkey with potatoes, vegetables, and cranberry sauce.
